Nell Gwynn – Betty
Nell Gwynn (Betty) has several NYC and regional theatre credits, most recently playing Margie in Salt Lake Acting Company’s regional premiere of Good People. Monsura is Waiting is her second short film after the award winning festival pic, Red Flag directed by Sheila Curran Dennin. Recent film work includes playing Ruth, the german speaking Hutterite in St. Cloud Production’s short After We Rest, and Darlene in Ami Canaan Mann’s independent feature Your Right Mind starring Katherine Heigl. Amy Staats – Dot
Amy Staats (Dot) is an actress, writer, and filmmaker. Recent NYC Theater credits include Trevor by Nick Jones, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, Sun Shines East directed by Pat Golden, and Waking Up directed by Tea Alagic. She is a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre, recent credits there include, Airborne by Laura Jaqmin, and Sluts of Sutton Drive by Josh Conkel. Film/TV: Helen Pellet in Here’s What I Like…And Now I’ll Tell You Why Melissa in Compulsive Love (recurring) dir. by Kevan Tucker, Neighbor Lady in Me + U (recurring) dir. by Kantarama Gahigiri. Amy won the Best Short Script for Mary and Louise @ LA Comedy Shorts 2012 (currently in post). Her films have screened at LA Comedy Shorts, Connecticut Film Festival, Waterfront Film Festival and many others. She is a current BVEW Screenplay Fellow for her feature script Mr. Rawls.

Yury Tsykun – Stu
Yury Tsykun (Stu) has performed in over 60 Films, TV Series, Theatre and Commercials in lead and supporting roles. Films include Portrait, where Yury played two roles Won Grand Prize Award in Barcelona Spain. Yury played opposite Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand in the Coen Brothers Movie Burn After Reading, also opposite Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter in the movie Conversation with other Woman. International credits include very successful Polish movie Ciacho playing opposite major Polish Stars, and The Bengali-Indian Bollywood movie Piyalir Password. Recently Yury played opposite Michael J. Fox in the Michael J. Fox Show on NBC; opposite Edie Falco in Nurse Jackie on Showtime; and opposite Louise C.K. in Louie on FX.
Being an actor is Yury’s deepest love, passion and privilege. Yury graduated from Film and Theatre Studio in his hometown of Odessa former USSR (Russia), where he was studied The Stanislavski System. He also graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, NYC. It was great experience and pleasure to be part very talented cast and crew of Short Film Monsura is Waiting.
